Again, a picture post because pictures indeed speak louder than words and because we are rushing to go out now. We are having a fabulous time here, and in a word, the place is amazing. The food scene here is awesome (we had an Anthony Bourdain dish! from a joint that the man himself visited, so the dish i'm talking about was named after him - pic follows) and Istanbul is a city you must visit if you take your tag of 'foodie' seriously. The photo opps are mindblowing AND we are with my nephew Ethan and his folks! I miss Oreo but i'm at peace knowing she is being taken care of by my darling mother and sister.
I know it'd be nicer if there were descriptions to accompany these pictures, and rest assured, they will follow.
I hope you are all well and hope to catch up with you guys once we are back home, over the jetlag, and unpacked the suitcases. Till then, keep it real! :) (yes, i miss my Big Bang episodes!)
What a treat! And, I must say that I was completely drawn into the lovely pictures that you have posted.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful remainder of the trip.
Joy always,
Susan
Thanks Susie, we had a fabulous, brilliant beauuutiful time there! So much so that, even after more than 2 weeks after getting back, i'm still dreaming Turkish lanterns and kebaps set to the tune of Turkish music! sigh!!
DeleteLoving it.. explain about all those guys with fishing rods... posing? or they actually get fish..
ReplyDeleteThe Shwarma.. yummm and hummus memories of Kwt.
Hot air balloon.. I must do one of those or similar and have the world at my feet even if for a few minutes... hehehehe
Mummy: Come Sunday early morning, hundreds of people assemble on the Galata Bridge on the Bosphorous to fish. They get fish too! Some of them come with their kids, but its mostly gentlemen having a nice time and waiting till they feel that pull on their lines.
Deleteand their doners (or shawarmas as known to the Arab speaking people), it's another thing altogether! just meat, meat and only meat! and some leaves. But no mayo, no dips, nothing! They sometimes add potato fries too - it's Yum! :)
and hot air ballooning!! Sigh! that was one of the highlights of the entire trip mummy! was just amazing :)
